Combating Isolation Through Self-Care in the Age of COVID-19

This presentation will focus on building a self-care plan to support well-being during the second wave. This is a particularly insightful talk for caregivers as COVID-19 continues to disproportionately affect older adults with dementia. The presentation will also be followed by a Q&A session.

Yuliya Goloida, MSW
Yuliya Goloida is a social worker in the Seniors Counselling and Referral Program. She has a Master of Social Work degree in Gerontology from the University of Toronto and has been working with older adults and caregivers for the last 5 years. Yuliya has worked at Baycrest in the inpatient rehab units of the hospital.

Yuliya is also a primary caregiver to her grandmother who has dementia. As part of her own self-care plan, Yuliya enjoys making miniature dollhouses, glassblowing, pottery, and nail art.
