Why aging-at-home support matters now

The need for trusted aging resources continues to grow:

  • 96% of Canadians say they want to age at home, yet only 6% feel prepared to do so. (Source: Ipsos)
  • Nearly one million Canadians are expected to be living with dementia by 2030. (Source: Alzheimer Society of Canada, Landmark Study)
  • Caregivers face significant health challenges of their own while supporting a loved one.

As more Canadians choose to age at home, Baycrest@Home extends Baycrest's expertise beyond its campus by connecting people with programs and services they can access in their own homes and communities.

What you'll find on Baycrest@Home

Baycrest@Home is organized into three key areas so users can quickly navigate the supports available.

Healthy Aging

Programs and resources that promote healthy aging and help reduce modifiable risk factors for dementia. Offerings include a free online hearing screening, an online brain health assessment, educational webinars, workshops, exercise and dance programs, and other wellness resources.

Community Care

Baycrest's specialized outpatient clinics and community-based services, including audiology, dental care, geriatric assessments, mental health services, and programs that support people living with cognitive impairment and memory loss.

Caregiver Support

Practical, evidence-informed resources designed to help caregivers care for a loved one while also protecting their own health and well-being. Resources include adult day programs, educational tools, and strategies for responding to dementia-related behaviours.

How the search tool works

The hub's search tool lets users filter offerings by:

  • Health topic — find supports relevant to a specific need
  • Service type — programs, clinics, assessments, resources and more
  • Referral requirements — see what can be accessed directly versus what needs a referral
  • Cost — filter for free or fee-based options

This makes it easier to connect with the right support, whenever and wherever it's needed.

Made possible by donor support

Baycrest@Home was made possible through the generous support of The Slaight Family Foundation. Philanthropic support like this allows Baycrest to extend its expertise beyond its campus and create new offerings that make a meaningful difference for the older adults, caregivers and families it serves.

"Baycrest@Home streamlines access to trusted, evidence-informed resources that support healthy aging at home. By bringing together Baycrest's extensive expertise in one place, we're making it easier for older adults, caregivers, families and healthcare professionals to find the right support, whenever and wherever they need it."
