Information Collection
Baycrest Foundation does not collect personally identifiable information about you in any of its domains except when you specifically provide this information on a voluntary basis. For example, when you register for subscription services, or provide your personal contact information for document or information requests from Baycrest Foundation or related entities. Baycrest Foundation will make every effort to ensure that whatever information you provide will be maintained in a secure environment. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Baycrest Foundation can’t ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our on-line products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Information Sharing
Baycrest Foundation will not sell or trade your personally identifiable information to unaffiliated third parties, except successors in interest, without your consent at the time of collection. When we ask for this data, you will have the opportunity to indicate whether you would like to “opt out” of receiving promotional and/or marketing information about other products, services, and offerings from Baycrest Foundation and/or any third parties. You can also opt out at anytime thereafter.
However, even if you opt out of receiving any communications from Baycrest Foundation, we reserve the right to contact you regarding your account status, changes to the subscriber agreement, and any other matter that might affect our service to you and/or our records on you.
Baycrest Foundation may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) Baycrest Foundation’s rights or property, other Baycrest Foundation users, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. Baycrest Foundation may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
Automatic Information Collection
Baycrest Foundation automatically collects information as part of the standard operating process of its websites. The information collected includes your internet protocol (IP) address, cookie information and browsing actions and patterns such as user analytics. A “cookie” means a small text file placed on your computer or device by our websites when you visit certain parts of our websites and/or when you use certain features of our websites. We use Google Analytics and Meta Pixel cookies to collect information about the use of our websites and preferences and to customize and improve the websites. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the websites may become inaccessible or not function properly.
Our websites may contain links to other websites, which may collect your personal information. Baycrest Foundation assumes no responsibility for the privacy policies of those other websites. You should read the privacy policies of those websites. We may contract with third party service providers to assist us in better understanding our site visitors and record your browsing habits in order to improve our product and service offerings and customer service.
If you register for a Baycrest Foundation event, make a donation or purchase e-cards online, your transaction will be processed through a third party vendor called CrowdChange. Please read CrowdChange’s Privacy Policy so you can understand how CrowdChange handles your personal information and uses cookies.
Opting Out
Upon request, Baycrest Foundation will allow any user to opt out of further promotional contacts at any time. Additionally upon request, Baycrest Foundation will use reasonable efforts to allow users to update or correct personal information previously submitted which you may say is erroneous, to the extent that changing the data will not compromise privacy or security interests. Also, upon your request, Baycrest Foundation will use commercially reasonable efforts to functionally delete you and your personal information from our database; however, it may be impossible to delete all of your information without some residual data because of backups and records of deletions. Furthermore, your e-mail address will be added to a suppression list that stops any message directed to you before it leaves Baycrest Foundation. It is your responsibility, however, to make certain that we have your most current e-mail address.
Should you wish to opt out of any mailing from Baycrest Foundation or a mailing you received through information provided to a third party affiliate, please contact Baycrest Foundation.
